Kaks kriminaali Robert “Bobby” Tench ja Michael “Stig” Stigman kuulatakse üle Ühendiriigi piirivalve poolt, pärast seda kui mehed kohtusid narkoparuni Papi Grecoga Mehhikos. Ainus mida Stig ei tea Bobby kohta on see, et mees on DEA agent. Kuid kuna tal ei õnnestunud kokaiini ja Grecot kokkupanna siis tuleb veel tõendeid koguda. Vastu bossi käske otsustab Bobby jääda veel katte all tööle ning kutsub Stigi endaga kaasa, et varastada Grecolt 3 miljonit dollarit, et siis teda rahapesus süüdistada. Bobby kohtub peale seda oma kallima Deb Reesiga, kes on samuti ühe teise mehega seotud aga Bobby ei tea seda. Samal ajal Stig töötab katte all USA mereväe jaoks, ilma et Bobby sellest midagi teaks. Stigi juht on Harold Quince, kes annab käsu Bobby tappa ja varastatud raha tema tuua.
Bobby ja Stig röövivad panga ning peale seda on nad üllatunud, et pangas oli 3 miljoni asemel 43 miljonit dollarit. Kui raha käes, viivad mehed oma plaani ellu, Stig üritab Bobbyst lahti saada ja rahaga minema sõita. Stig aga ei suuda Bobby tappa ja tulistab teda ainult õlga. Harold saatis oma mehed Stigi tapma ning kui Stig mõistab kuhu raha viiakse, siis põgeneb sellega. Üks tüüp nimega Eral aga saab teada et Bobby ja Stig varastasid temalt raha.
Bobby läheb oma ülemuse juurde ja räägib mis juhtus, kuid siis saabuvad Earl ja ta mehed, kes tahavad teda tappa. Earl tapab Bobby bossi ning jätab mulje nagu oleks Bobby mõrvar. Et aga oma nimi puhtaks pesta, peab Bobby tooma Earlele 43 miljonit tagasi. Seepeale läheb Bobby Stig korterisse et teada saada kuhu mees raha pani, Stig ei ole kodus vaid teiselpool teed snaipriga sihtimas. Bobbyl ja Stigil õnnestub napilt Haroldi meeste eest minema saada ja nad võtavad Greco kaasa ja lähevad Debi majja. Nad seovad mehe garaazi kinni ning saavad teada, et on CIAlt raha varastanud ja Earl on ninamees.
Siis aga rünnatakse garaazi ning peameheks on selles taaskord Harold, kolmik aga võetakse Greco poolt kinni ning viiakse ühte tema farmi Mehhikos. Nad peksavad neid ning siis annab Greco neile 24 tundi, et varastada raha mereväelt ning tuua see neile, muidu Debi tapetakse.
Baasis aga saab Bobby teada, uurides Haroldi kabinetti, et Harold on Deby poiss-sõber ning nad plaanisid koos raha varastada ja selle endale jätta. Samal ajal küsib Stig Admiral Tuwaylt abi, mees käsib Haroldi kinnivõtta aga keeldub Stigi ametiseisust tõstmast eelnenud skandaali tõttu. Nii Harold kui ka Stig võetakse kinni. Kuid raha pole kuskil, Bobby jääb hiljaks, et hoida Grecot Debi tapmast, siis aga mõistab ta, et raha on motellis kus ta Debiga sagedasti käis. Ta suundub Stigile appi, kes vahepeal on farmi naasnud.
Stigi juurde ilmuvad Greco mehed ja piiravad ta siise, kuniks saabuvad nii Harold kui ka Earl. Ka Bobby saabub, ta tuleb autoga, mis on pilgeni täis raha. Ta astub sellest välja ja jätab raha sinna, eemale astudes laseb ta aga auto õhku ning raha lendab igas suunas laiali… ja sellega algab massiline tulistamine üksteise pihta. On väike seisak Haroldi, Earli, Bobby ja Stigi vahel ning Earl teatab et CIAl on palju erinevaid väikepankasid üle maailma ning see 43 miljonit ei ole tegelikult eriti suur kahju. Andes väikse fraasiga üksteisele eelneva jutuajamisega märku, tulistab Stig Earli ja Bobby Haroldit. PEale seda tapavad Bobby ja Stig Greco ning põenevad. AGa enne lahkumist tulistab Bobby Stigi jalga, kuna too alguses teda õlga tulistas.
Mehed plaanivad võtta ükshaaval CIA pangad ette ning rikkuda CIA salaoperatsioone ning Bobby annab Stigile mõista et ei lasknud kõike 43 miljonit õhku ning Stig püüab teada saada palju mees alles jättis..
Bobby: You never heard the saying, never rob a bank across from a diner with the best donuts in three counties?

Bobby: I’m very sorry about my friend. He was kicked in the head as a child.
Stig: They’re torturing chickens, man!
Bobby: What is that you’re eating.

Earl: Nobody’s innocent, friend. There just the guilty, the ignorant, and the unlucky.
Bobby: So, partner, what’s your plan?
Stig: I got a plan. I mean, I’m capable of coming up with a plan.
Bobby: I’m not saying you’re not capable. I’m just saying you haven’t told me. What is it?
Stig: I’m working on it! Screw it.
Bobby: That was your plan?
Stig: No one expected it! You should have seen your face!
Earl: You’re still a drug dealer. And I’m still the government of the United States. It’s a free market, Manny. Not a free world.
Admiral Tuwey: When the hand has gangrene, you chop it off to save the body. You don’t keep the pinkie around just because it “meant well”.
Officer Dave: Who is that guy?
FBI Agent: You’ve heard of the hidden hand of God? Well, that’s God’s son of a bitch.
Earl: Your man Bobby Trench stole 43 million of our dollars. We’d like it back. Because it’s our money. Because it’s a blatant act of disrespect. And because it’s our money.
